Chaucer hires Baker as Class Underwriter within political violence & crisis management team

Chaucer, the global specialty re/insurance firm has appointed industry veteran Alex Baker as Class Underwriter within its political violence and crisis management team.
Baker brings a deep degree of expertise towards his new role, having previously worked at AXA XL (Catlin) for thirteen years where he specialised in underwriting Terrorism and Political Violence risks.
In his new role, Baker is expected to lead the delivery of the teams growth strategy and portfolio management across the US market.
Addressing his appointment, Baker said: “I’m delighted to be joining Chaucer and greatly look forward to working alongside the firm’s extremely talented individuals in driving the business forward.”

Earlier this year, Chaucer announced the appointment of Hayley Spink as Group Chief Operating Officer.
She will reportedly join the firm in Q4, coming from Apollo Syndicate 1969 where she currently serves as Chief Operating Officer.
