Chaucer names former Aspen executive as CEO

Chaucer Insurance Group PLC on Wednesday named former Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. UK CEO Richard Milner as group CEO.
Mr. Milner will head the specialty insurer and reinsurer, including composite Syndicate 1084, specialty nuclear Syndicate 1176, and the insurance company in Dublin.
He will be succeeded at Aspen by Sarah Stanford, who was named interim CEO of Aspen UK, the insurer and reinsurer said in its statement Wednesday.
Ms. Stanford was most recently Active Underwriter, Lloyd’s Syndicate 4711, which represents approximately 75% of Aspen’s U.K. business, Aspen said in a statement. She joined Aspen in 2007.
Ms. Stanford was selected as one of Business Insurance’s 2022 Women to Watch.
Mr. Milner will be leaving Aspen on March 31, the statement said.
John Fowle resigned as Chaucer’s CEO last year to join rival Atrium Underwriters Ltd.
