Chubb makes several executive appointments

Chubb Ltd. Tuesday named John Lupica, vice chairman of Chubb Group, as executive chairman of its general insurance business in North America, as it announced a series of leadership changes.

Juan Luis Ortega, executive vice president, Chubb Group, and president of Overseas General Insurance, its international commercial P&C business, since 2019, succeeds Mr. Lupica as president, North America insurance. Mr. Ortega reports to Mr. Lupica.

Scott Meyer, senior vice president, Chubb Group, was promoted to chief operating officer, North America insurance, a newly created role.

Mr. Meyer previously was division president of Westchester, Chubb’s wholesale excess and surplus lines business. He reports to Mr. Ortega.

Christopher Maleno, senior vice president, Chubb Group, was named vice chairman, North America insurance. Mr. Maleno retains his current role as division president, North America field operations and reports to Mr. Ortega.
