Continental Re promotes Moadh Derbali to Head of Underwriting, Facultative

Pan-African reinsurer Continental Reinsurance has promoted Moadh Derbali to Head of Underwriting for its Facultative Business.

According to the reinsurer, his “extensive experience in claims handling, field expertise as a loss adjuster, and prevention engineering is a valuable asset to the team.”

Derbali brings more than 18 years of experience in the non-life insurance industry to the role.

He has deep expertise in risk assessment, underwriting, claims management, and loss prevention, and has been instrumental in evaluating complex risks and developing tailored reinsurance solutions.

Derbali began his career at COMAR, progressing from Prevention Engineer to Claims Manager over a decade.

Throughout his career, he has held several key positions, including Deputy General Manager at PREVEX AFRICA, where he led initiatives in expertise, prevention, and claims management.

The reinuser stated, “Derbali is renowned for his leadership, adaptability, and unwavering dedication, he combines technical depth with operational insight in every endeavour he pursues.”
