Convex appoints executives for Bermuda, underwriting

Convex Group Ltd. on Tuesday said Paul Simons will become Bermuda CEO and Christophe Chandler will become group deputy chief underwriting officer for reinsurance, effective Jan. 1, 2024.

Mr. Simons joined Convex in December 2022 as deputy CEO of Bermuda, according to a Convex statement. He was previously CEO, Bermuda reinsurance for Axa XL, a unit of France’s Axa SA.

Mr. Chandler joined Convex in 2019 leading reinsurance specialty, the statement said. He was previously head of specialty – London, for XL Catlin.

Mr. Simons will continue to be based in Bermuda and Mr. Chandler in London with both reporting to Matt Paskin, group chief underwriting officer reinsurance and chairman of the reinsurance executive committee, the statement said.
