Cowbell Cyber promotes underwriting, sales executives

Cowbell Cyber Inc. on Thursday said that Caroline Thompson, senior vice president, underwriting, has been promoted to chief underwriting officer, and Sonja Kozel, regional vice president, sales and distribution, has been promoted to senior vice president, sales and distribution.

In her new role, Ms. Thompson will lead Cowbell’s team of nationwide underwriters. She joined Cowbell in 2019 and is part of the founding leadership team, according to a statement from the insurer. Before joining Cowbell, she had been a senior underwriting specialist at Zurich Ltd.

Ms. Kozel joined Cowbell in 2020, before which she was a senior sales manager with Markel Specialty, the statement said. She will lead all sales and distribution efforts for Cowbell East of the Mississippi, the statement said.
