CRC Group’s Starwind Specialty Insurance Services names Kirk Conrad CUO

CRC Group’s Starwind Specialty Insurance Services has appointed Kirk Conrad as its Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO).
As CUO, Conrad will help shape the firm’s underwriting strategies, monitor and manage risks, and help to stay on top of emerging trends in the marketplace.
The executive’s deep expertise in data and analytics will play a critical role in further enhancing the firm’s capabilities. As an industry veteran, Conrad has over two decades of experience across multiple sectors of the insurance industry.
His roles include both commercial and personal lines, risk management, and data analytics. Most recently, Conrad served as the Global Head of Analytics at a leading reinsurance brokerage firm.
He was responsible for building and leading the firm’s actuarial, catastrophe modelling and rating, and regulatory advisory services resources.
Conrad’s other roles include General Securities and Investment Banking Principal with the firm’s broker-dealer. Before entering the reinsurance brokerage space, he held positions as a property/casualty actuarial consultant.
He has also helped manage a significant portfolio of re/insurance positions at a multi-strategy alternative investment firm, and worked for an insurance carrier.
