Davies Group buys Florida-based TPA

London-based claims management company Davies Group Ltd. said Thursday it has acquired Johns Eastern Co. Inc., a third-party administrator and adjusting company based in Sarasota, Florida.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Davies said in a statement that the deal will strengthen its independent adjusting and catastrophe response capabilities in North America.

Johns Eastern manages workers compensation, auto, trucking, general liability, property and motor truck cargo claims for large insurers, self-insured companies, public entities and the Lloyd’s of London market.

Don Lederer, president and CEO of Johns Eastern, will continue to lead the business in addition to becoming CEO of Davies’ TPA operations in the U.S. Mr. Lederer will report to Matt Button, CEO of Davies U.S.

Johns Eastern has around 270 employees, all of whom will be joining Davies, a Davies spokesman said via email.
