Dual names head of transactional risk division

Dual North America Inc. said Wednesday it has hired Mike Sherry, formerly with Alliant Insurance Services Inc., as head of its transactional risk division.

Mr. Sherry previously was senior vice president in Alliant’s mergers and acquisitions group. Prior to that, he was vice president in the alternative risk solutions group at Everest Insurance.

He will split his time between San Francisco and New York.

Dennis Kearns, previously president of Dual Transaction Solutions, and a team of transactional risk underwriters left Dual last year to launch Sands Point Risk, a private-equity-backed managing general agent.
