DUAL UK strengthens senior leadership team

DUAL UK, part of the specialist underwriting arm of Howden Group, has made three senior appointments, with Steve Kelly now Managing Director of Construction, James Ramira now Managing Director of Regional P&C and Social Care, and Georgie Petrou as Head of Strategic Accounts.

Kelly joined the business at the start of January and has over 35 years of industry experience, bringing deep technical knowledge of the construction and engineering insurance market.

He spent 26 years at RSA and latterly, nine years at Allianz. In his new role, Kelly focuses on growing DUAL’s existing construction portfolio and the potential to expand the business’ appetite for risk into new areas.

In the new role, Ramira will continue to lead the Social Care and Commercial Underwriting teams, and his role will be a central part of driving the regional and commercial ambitions forward. He joined DUAL UK in 2014 and has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, specialising in the niche social care space on both the broker and underwriting functions. Most recently, he was the Director of Social Care at DUAL UK.

Petrou joined DUAL UK in January 2025, with over 20 years of experience from Chubb, where she was UK&I Strategic Development Manager, having previously worked at Zurich Insurance and Marsh.
