Eric Andersen has stepped down as president of Aon PLC, moving to the role of senior adviser to CEO Greg Case, and will leave the company in June 2026, the brokerage announced Monday.
Mr. Case will assume the role of president and take on all of Mr. Andersen’s prior responsibilities, an Aon spokesman said.
The announcement marks another change in Aon’s senior leadership since the announcement last year that Christa Davies would step down as chief financial officer and become a senior adviser to the company before retiring this year.
Mr. Andersen, who has been with the company for 28 years, was named co-president in 2018 when he and Michael O’Connor took on the joint role from Mr. Case. He was named the single president of the company in 2020 when Mr. O’Connor left Aon.
Mr. Andersen has held several senior roles during his career at Aon, including heading its financial services business, its U.S. retail brokerage operations and its reinsurance brokerage unit.
His appointment as president five years ago fueled speculation that he would ultimately succeed Mr. Case as CEO. Last year, Aon extended Mr. Case’s employment contract by two years to 2028.
Meanwhile, Aon announced last week that Michael Neller will move from his role as chief accounting officer and global controller of the company to a new role as deputy global chief people officer, total rewards and talent development, of the company. Aon said it will conduct a search for a new chief accounting officer and global controller.
