Everest revamps casualty operations

Everest Insurance Co. has reorganized its U.S. casualty business under the leadership of New York-based David Sandler as president, U.S. casualty.

The unit will have three segments: wholesale, retail and industry specialties, according to a statement from the unit of Bermuda-based Everest Re Group Ltd.

Previously, the insurer’s casualty business was divided between its risk management group, which Mr. Sandler headed, and its specialty casualty group. Connie Germano, who was president of the specialty casualty group, was named senior vice president, treaty casualty & surety in Everest Re’s reinsurance division in November.

Mike Harnett will be chief underwriting officer, U.S. casualty, the statement said. Previously, he was head of underwriting operations for Everest Insurance.
