Florida brokerage King buys Georgia agency

Gainesville, Florida-based King Insurance said Thursday it has acquired Piedmont Insurance Associates Inc., a commercial and personal lines agency based in Covington, Georgia.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Piedmont has 22 employees, according to LinkedIn. David Wilson, Piedmont principal and partner; Phil Boswell, president; and the agency’s staff will continue operating out of their current locations in Covington and Newnan, Georgia, King said.
The deal is the 11th completed by King over the past year, the brokerage said in a statement. Private equity firm BHMS Investments LP invested in King in July.
King said it plans to continue to broaden its operations across the southeastern U.S. and to announce several additional acquisitions in the upcoming months.
King said Monday it had acquired two Florida agencies.
