Former Equity Residential risk manager to join Brown & Brown

Stephan L. Upshaw, former vice president, risk management, at Equity Residential, will join Brown & Brown Inc. next month.

Chicago-based Mr. Upshaw will be a senior managing director in the brokerage’s risk solutions division.

He retired last week from Equity Residential, a Chicago-based residential property investment and management company founded by the late Sam Zell.
