Former Munich Re Specialty West Coast leader joins MGA

Rachael Dougherty, a former leader at Munich Reinsurance Co.’s excess and surplus lines insurer, has joined Vivere Partners, a recently launched managing general agent.

San Francisco-based Ms. Dougherty is Vivere’s chief underwriting officer, specialty property. She previously was vice president-West Coast territory lead, E&S property at Munich Re Specialty.

Ms. Dougherty joined Munich Re from Transatlantic Reinsurance Co. in 2020. She was a 2025 Business Insurance Break Out Award winner.

Vivere was launched earlier this year by former Socius Insurance Services Inc. executive Chris McKechnie. The Laguna Beach, California-based company completed $7.5 million in Series A funding in April.
