Gallagher acquires California broker with trucking industry focus

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Thursday it has acquired Corona, California-based Ace Commercial Insurance Center.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Ace specializes in broking coverages for the trucking industry, primarily in Southern California, a Gallagher statement said. The broker has about 10 employees, a Gallagher spokesman said.

Ace President and CFO Jackie Hoang; Anhdy Nguyen, vice president of operation underwriting; and their staff will remain in their current location under Scott Firestone, head of Gallagher’s Southwest region retail property/casualty brokerage operations.

J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman, president and CEO, said in the statement that the deal expands Gallagher’s transportation market expertise in the Southwest.
