Gallagher acquires Kentucky brokerage

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Tuesday it has acquired Benton, Kentucky-based broker Morgan, Trevathan & Gunn Inc.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

MTG specializes in coverages for trucking industry clients in Kentucky and nearby states, according to a Gallagher statement. It has offices in Benton and Fort Wright, Kentucky, and about 20 employees, according to a Gallagher spokesman.

Chris Gunn, Michael Martin, Jimmy Boling, Brett Conyers and the MTG staff will remain in their current locations under the direction of Bumpy Triche, head of Gallagher’s Mid-South retail property/casualty brokerage operations, the statement said.

J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Gallagher, said the deal expands growth opportunities in the transportation space.
