Gallagher buys Arkansas-based broker

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Thursday it has acquired Little Rock, Arkansas-based Alpha Surety & Insurance Brokerage LLC.

Founded in 2002, Alpha Surety sells direct and wholesale commercial surety bonds in various industry sectors, including money transmitters, cryptocurrency, professional employer organizations, debt managers, mortgage/finance lenders, and fundraisers.

Alpha Surety will continue to operate from Little Rock under the direction of Kevin Garvin, head of Gallagher Affinity, the Rolling Meadows, Illinois-based broker said in a statement.

Four employees will be joining Gallagher, a spokeswoman said via email.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
