Gallagher buys New Hampshire retail broker

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. on Thursday said it has acquired Concord, New Hampshire-based The Rowley Agency LLC.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Rowley is a retail broker providing property/casualty, surety and employee benefits to commercial and personal lines clients mainly in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Massachusetts, according to a Gallagher statement.
Rowley employees will remain in their current location under the direction of Brendan Gallagher, head of Gallagher’s Northeast region retail property/casualty brokerage operations, and John Neumaier, head of Gallagher’s East region employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.
Rowley has about 65 employees, according to an email from a spokesman.
J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman and CEO, said in the statement the deal bolsters Gallagher in “in niches including construction, manufacturing and healthcare.”
Gallagher is the third-largest broker of U.S. business in the most recent Business Insurance rankings.
