Gallagher buys San Diego-based transportation specialist

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Monday it has acquired Hartley Cylke Pacific Insurance Services Inc., a retail broker based in San Diego.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Hartley Cylke Pacific has about 15 employees and specializes in placing coverage for transportation businesses in California and Arizona, Gallagher said.

Hartley Cylke Pacific President Michael Hartley; John Cylke, vice president; James Hawes, agent; and staff will remain in their current location under the direction of Scott Firestone, head of Gallagher’s Southwest region retail property/casualty brokerage operations.

This acquisition follows another last week expanding Gallagher’s transportation expertise in the Southwest.
