Gallagher names Simon Collings Chief Broking Officer

Simon Collings has been appointed to the newly created executive role of Chief Broking Officer for Gallagher, subject to regulatory approval, and will report to Michael Rea, the broker’s Chief Executive Officer in the UK.

Joining the UK executive team, Collings will lead and develop the broking strategy for Gallagher in the UK & Ireland, including its extensive Retail operations and its London-market Speciality division.

Collings and his team will work with insurers throughout the industry, aiming to deliver the best outcomes for clients.

Michael added: “Simon is a fantastic addition to my executive team. He has a strong track record of leading the creation of broking strategies and will play a hugely important role in overseeing our insurer relationships across our various broking divisions. He will play a pivotal role in steering our broking and placement teams to deliver insurance solutions that mitigate the risks facing our clients.

“The fact that we have been able to make this key executive appointment from within our existing team speaks volumes about the level of talent we have at Gallagher, and Simon will be instrumental as we continue our success story.”

Collings brings three decades of insurance experience to his new role, having joined Gallagher in 2017 as Market Management Director for UK Retail.

Prior to his new appointment, the executive served as Managing Director of Gallagher’s national broking & placement team within its UK & Ireland Retail division.

Before joining Gallagher, Collings held several senior positions at Marsh, JLT and Miller in placement roles.
