Gallagher Re Japan has revealed significant senior leadership changes, naming George Sherriff as the new CEO, while Tsuyoshi “Travis” Noguchi has been appointed Chairman.
Currently leading the Global Client proposition across Asia Pacific from Singapore, Sherriff will reportedly continue to provide oversight to this offering after transitioning into the role of CEO.
According to Gallagher Re, he has been instrumental in supporting the strategic direction of its Japanese business for 13 years.
Mark Morley, Head of Asia Pacific at Gallagher Re, commented, “George’s expertise and experience in the region make him the ideal candidate for this role.
“His contributions to the strategic direction of our Japanese business have been invaluable, and we are excited to see him take on this new leadership position.”
Meanwhile, Noguchi, who will move into the role of Chairman, is said to have led the evolution of Gallagher Re’s Tokyo and Japan business over the past 10 years, significantly growing the firm’s footprint across the market.
In his new role, Noguchi will work closely with Sherriff and continue to expand and support Gallagher Re’s relationship with its Japanese clients on a global basis.
“I’d like to thank Travis for his significant contributions and leadership in shaping and scaling our Japanese operation to what it is today,” Morley added.
Both Sherriff and Noguchi will assume their new positions on the 1st of July. Gallagher Re concluded that with their combined expertise and leadership, it is well-positioned to continue its growth and success in the Japanese reinsurance market.
