Gallagher Re hires former TigerRisk partner

Gallagher Re, the reinsurance brokerage arm of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., on Thursday named former TigerRisk Partners LLC partner Linda Johnson as vice chairperson of its North American team, a newly created position.

Most recently, Minneapolis-based Ms. Johnson was global legacy solutions practice leader at TigerRisk. Prior to joining TigerRisk in 2008, she was an executive vice president at Benfield Group Ltd.

She will report to Tom Wafer, chairman of Gallagher Re North America, a Gallagher statement said.

In addition, Gallagher Re named Daniel Veiga CEO of Gallagher Re Brazil’s treaty operations. Previously, Rio de Janeiro-based Mr. Veiga was chief underwriting officer of IRB Re Brazil’s nonlife business.
