Gallagher Re, the reinsurance broking unit of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., said Thursday that April Engelman has been promoted to chief operating officer of its North American region.
She succeeds Mark Hansen, who was recently promoted to chief operating officer of Gallagher Re.
Based in Minneapolis, Ms. Engelman will report to Brian Flasinski, CEO of Gallagher Re North America, the reinsurance broker said in a statement.
Ms. Engelman joined Gallagher Re in 2021 as executive vice president and operations director for North America, with the acquisition of Willis Re, the reinsurance business of Willis Towers Watson PLC. She spent 19 years with WTW, most recently as senior vice president, regional operations manager for the Midwest at Willis Re.
