Georgina Smart named HDI Head of Global Risk Bloodstock & Equine

HDI Global, a commercial and specialty lines insurer, has announced the appointment of Georgina Smart as Head of Global Risk Bloodstock & Equine, based in London.

Smart will lead the insurer’s bloodstock and equine underwriting and distribution strategy across international markets and the US.

The executive brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously served as equine specialist at Ashby Underwriting, where she previously held a senior underwriting role.

Prior to that, she was Head of Equine for Tokio Marine Kiln, and Equine Class Underwriter at Catlin Underwriting Agencies.

HDI’s UK and Ireland bloodstock team, led by Cathy Olive, Underwriting Manager – Equine & Bloodstock Lead UK, is part of the global Bloodstock & Equine hub.
