Great American names head of commercial casualty unit

Great American Insurance Co. Tuesday named Robert D. Martin president and chief operating officer of its Mid-Continent Group unit.

He succeeds Barry Leahy, who has left the company, a Great American spokeswoman said.

Previously, Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Mr. Martin was a senior vice president at Mid-Continent, which offers commercial casualty insurance, including excess and surplus lines coverage.

He joined Mid-Continent in 2012 as vice president and chief information officer after working in information technology for various companies.
