Guy Carpenter appoints Heather Legg as Managing Director of Canadian broking team

Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance broking division of Marsh McLennan, has announced the appointment of Heather Legg as Managing Director (MD) of its Canadian broking team.

In her new role, Legg will be based in the firm’s Toronto, Canada office.

In a recent post, Guy Carpenter stated, “Heather’s extensive experience in reinsurance underwriting and reinsurance broking, coupled with her recent leadership responsibilities, adds depth to our management group while enhancing the value Guy Carpenter delivers to our clients.”

Legg joins Guy Carpenter from Validus Reinsurance, where she spent five years, most recently as Chief Agent for the Canadian Branch, helping to lead the company’s entry into Canada.

Prior to that, she held senior leadership roles at Aon for over 18 years and was involved in producing and hosting insurance-related conferences.

Legg began her career at Guy Carpenter in 1994 as a Treaty Reinsurance Broker.
