Hamilton to launch US E&S property insurance business

Hamilton Global Specialty, part of Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd., said Wednesday it hired Lissie Van Leunen, formerly with CNA, to build a U.S. excess and surplus lines property insurance business through its managing general agency.

Ms. Van Leunen was named head of U.S. property and reports to Pepe Marquez, president, Hamilton Americas.

Richmond, Virginia-based Ms. Van Leunen is building out a team and a book that will target commercial E&S lines risks and introduce products ahead of a Jan. 1, 2025, launch, Hamilton said in a statement.

Ms. Van Leunen most recently was underwriting consulting director at CNA. Prior to that, she held various senior roles at Argo Group and Markel Corp.
