Hartford promotes Mo Tooker to president

The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. announced Thursday it has appointed Morris “Mo” Tooker, the current head of commercial and global specialty lines, as president.

In his new position, Mr. Tooker’s responsibilities will expand to oversee personal lines in addition to small, middle and large commercial lines, global specialty lines, enterprise sales and distribution, and risk services, The Hartford said in its announcement.

Mr. Tooker joined the property/casualty insurer in 2015 as chief underwriting officer. In November 2023, The Hartford announced he was being promoted to head of commercial lines, effective March 1, 2024.

Before working for The Hartford, Mr. Tooker was president of General Reinsurance Corp. and was responsible for its global P&C business.

Mr. Tooker will report to The Hartford’s Chairman and CEO Christopher Swift.
