The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. on Wednesday named A. Morris “Mo” Tooker head of commercial lines, effective March 1, 2024, as it announced a series of leadership changes and said two top executives will retire.
Mr. Tooker will lead small commercial in addition to his current role as head of middle and large commercial, global specialty and enterprise sales and distribution, the Hartford, Connecticut-based insurer said.
He will continue to report to The Hartford Chairman and CEO Christopher Swift.
Melinda Thompson, currently chief operating officer for personal lines, was named head of personal lines, the company said.
The appointments follow the upcoming retirement of Stephanie Bush, currently head of small commercial and personal lines.
Don Hunt, currently deputy general counsel and corporate secretary, was also named general counsel and head of law, compliance and government affairs, succeeding David Robinson, who is retiring.
Ms. Thompson and Mr. Hunt will report to Mr. Swift once they assume their new roles, The Hartford said.
Chris Jones, currently chief operating officer for small commercial, was also named head of small commercial and Tracey Ant, currently head of middle and large commercial business units, was named head of middle and large commercial. Mr. Jones and Ms. Ant will report to Mr. Tooker.
Ms. Ant was a 2006 Business Insurance Women to Watch honoree.
All appointments are effective March 1, except for Ms. Ant’s, which is effective Jan. 2.
