HDI Global Insurance launches new Life Sciences Solution with $10M Capacity

HDI Global Insurance Company, the US branch of the global commercial insurer HDI Global SE, has announced the introduction of its new excess Life Sciences Liability policy.

With coverage options of up to $10 million, this enhanced solution provides tailored protection for risks unique to the industry.

It is designed for various sectors, including biotechnology and specialty pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, manufacturers of non-invasive, invasive, and permanently implantable medical devices, blood plasma manufacturers, and contract manufacturing and contract development manufacturing organisations (CMO & CDMO).

Brian Carlsen, who has recently joined HDI as an Assistant Vice President (AVP), will assume the role of US Life Science Lead. In this position, he will focus on expanding the company’s business in the region.

With 16 years of underwriting experience, including the last 10 years dedicated to Life Science placements, Carlsen brings substantial expertise to the role.

Before joining HDI, he served as the Underwriting Manager and Referral Underwriter for the East region at a Fortune 500 insurance carrier. Brian holds a degree in communications from Fairfield University.
