HDI Global SE, an industrial insurer, is set to integrate generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into its services within the International Programmes sector to enhance customer offerings.
Following the successful trial of its in-house AI solution, HDI’s specialists will be better equipped to meet the intricate demands of global business operations with improved efficiency and transparency.
Simultaneously, the company is actively boosting its team’s expertise in GenAI through structured training programmes.
International Programmes are vital for multinational corporations seeking comprehensive global risk protection.
With a vast network spanning over 175 countries and a workforce of more than 5,000 employees, HDI Global brings significant expertise to managing these programmes. Currently overseeing over 5,100 International Programmes, the company is regarded as a leader in the field.
Through these programmes, HDI Global negotiates terms centrally with clients, ensuring seamless implementation across multiple regions while adhering to local regulations.
Customers benefit from consistent insurance standards and centralised management, all while complying with regional legal requirements.
“Our long-standing leading expertise in the field and our own global network make us the ideal partner for multinational corporations operating in a time of global transformation,” said Dr Dirk Höring, Member of the HDI Global SE Executive Board, responsible for property insurance, engineering insurance, marine insurance, HDI risk.
“We know the local legal circumstances and tax laws as well as the different regional underwriting practices and customs. Thanks to this expertise in International Programmes, we are able to offer seamless and risk appropriate insurance protection for our multinational customers while taking special care to ensure worldwide compliance.”
To boost customer service and better address specific needs, HDI Global plans to incorporate GenAI into its operations.
The company’s custom-built AI solution utilises its internal databases, which are continuously updated by experts, containing country-specific information and insurance regulations from thousands of local policies. This closed system is designed to meet all data protection and confidentiality standards.
In everyday use, the AI will assist HDI’s experts by generating automated suggestions in response to customer inquiries.
These recommendations will cover local compliance requirements, necessary documentation, and suggested process steps, enabling HDI Global to manage International Programmes more efficiently and promptly.
“The benefits of generative AI in International Programmes are enormous. We are now in the implementation phase,” added Dr Thomas Kuhnt, Member of the HDI Global SE Executive Board (COO).
“Our AI solution serves as a powerful co-pilot for our team members. All decisions and process controls always remain in human hands and under the responsibility of HDI experts. At the same time, our customers enjoy the benefits of even more agile and transparent support for their complex worldwide risks.”
The implementation of GenAI is a key element of HDI Global’s broader digitalisation and innovation strategy. As part of this initiative, the company consistently invests in advanced technological solutions, ongoing employee training, and events like the Analytics Summer Festival held in Hannover this year.
These efforts aim to enhance the expertise of its workforce, ensuring they continue to provide exceptional customer service.
“It is only through the ongoing development and training of our people that we can systematically leverage the benefits of GenAI for our customers,” continued Kuhnt.
“As an internationally positioned industrial insurer with a considerable affinity for digital solutions, we are making HDI Global a particularly attractive employer in the eyes of new talent while also promoting lifelong learning for our employees.”
