HDI hires chief strategy officer from Zurich, names CUO

HDI Global Insurance Co., the U.S. unit of HDI Global SE, said Thursday it has hired Santiago Treviño, formerly with Zurich North America, as chief strategy officer, a newly created role.

Mr. Treviño, based in Chicago, previously was vice president of strategy, innovation, and business development at Zurich. He will identify, develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive growth.

Marco Hensel was also promoted to chief underwriting officer, HDI Global said. Jens Heckerott, who previously was chief underwriting officer, took up the role of general manager at HDI Global Specialty SE in 2022.

Chicago-based Mr. Hensel, previously was underwriting lead and joined HDI Global in 2003.
