Higginbotham buys Alabama agency

Higginbotham said Thursday it has acquired Fitts Agency Inc., a Tuscaloosa, Alabama-based insurance agency.

Terms were not disclosed.

Fitts, which has 45 staff, was founded in 1875 and continues to be run by members of the Fitts family. It offers commercial and personal lines coverage and employee benefits.

Last year, Fort Worth, Texas-based Higginbotham bought three affiliated agencies in Alabama.
