Higginbotham makes agency acquisition

Higginbotham Wednesday said it has acquired Program Insurance Group.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Georgetown, Texas, Program Insurance Group is an independent insurance agency offering business, nonprofit and personal insurance to clients in Texas, the statement said.

Program Insurance Group, with a staff of about 25, is the home of EZ CERT, a national insurance certificate tracking service for franchisors and franchisees, according to the Higginbotham statement.

Higginbotham is the 20th-largest broker of U.S. business, according to the most recent Business Insurance

rankings.
