High Street buys Virginia-based agency

Acquisitive insurance brokerage High Street Insurance Partners Inc. said Friday it has bought Alexandria, Virginia-based agency Clarke & Sampson Insurance Inc.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Clarke & Sampson has about 15 staff and handles commercial and personal lines insurance, including specialty coverage for political organizations and trade unions.

Private equity-backed High Street Insurance has been one of the most acquisitive brokerages over the past two years. The Traverse City, Michigan-based company, which was formed by former Hub International Ltd. executives in 2018, said in a statement it has completed 37 deals so far this year.
