Howden buys Bermuda broker Foram

U.K.-based insurance broker Howden Broking Group Ltd. said Thursday it has acquired Hamilton, Bermuda-based broker Foram Brokerage Ltd.

Foram is an insurance and reinsurance broker specializing in casualty, energy, professional lines, construction, product recall, property and health care lines largely to U.S. clients requiring access to the Bermudian market.

Paul Redgate, deputy chair Howden Specialty, said the deal gives Howden a significant, on-the-ground presence in Bermuda.
