Howden hires Chaucer exec to be managing director

Howden Group Holdings Ltd. Wednesday named Chaucer Group executive April McLaughlin to the newly created role of managing director, Howden Miami.

Ms. McLaughlin will lead Howden Re Miami, which will offer treaty and facultative insurance, the broker said in a statement.

She also will take responsibility for Howden’s existing specialty operations in the region, which covers Central America and the Caribbean.

Ms. McLaughlin will report to Sonia Caamaño, CEO, international growth markets, and Mario Baotic, head of international growth markets, international treaty, Howden Re.

Max Scagnetti, currently managing director specialty, Howden Miami, will assume the role of executive adviser for Miami and Latin America. He will continue reporting to Ms. Caamaño.

Ms. McLaughlin is currently head of Chaucer Latin America.

She will join Howden once she has fulfilled her contractual obligations to her current employer, the statement said.
