Howden names Carol Murphy as Head of US Casualty

Howden US, part of the global insurance and reinsurance broking group, has appointed Carol Murphy as Head of its US Casualty operation.

Murphy is an industry veteran and brings a proven track record of translating complex risk challenges into actionable client solutions to Howden.

In her new role, Murphy will join Howden US CEO, Mike Parrish’s, leadership team, partnering with the group’s global specialty leaders to build a best-in-class US casualty offering.

The offering aims to be client-centric, technically rigorous, and locally responsive across every industry sector, notes the firm.

Murphy joins Howden’s team of senior regional experts, Dan Davoli, Matt Replogle, and Mark Colgate.

In previous industry roles, she led casualty strategy, placement and execution, complex claims advisory, and analytics at several companies, including rival broker Aon.

Murphy said, “Clients need a casualty partner that delivers exceptional results with speed, precision and accountability. At Howden, we’re building a practice grounded in deep local expertise, supported by our global capabilities.

“Our team will demonstrate what’s possible when you combine rigorous problem-solving expertise with a relentless focus on client outcomes, from middle-market to the largest multinational organisations.”

Parrish commented on the appointment, “Carol is a great builder of teams that have elevated industry standards, and her extensive experience and rigorous technical excellence provide us with an incredibly strong position in the market.

“Her appointment is in keeping with our vision for Howden US; a business defined by uncompromising standards, accountability and the ability to deliver superior client experiences across every specialty, coast-to-coast.”
