HUB appoints Tim DeSett as President of North American Commercial Lines

Hub International Limited (HUB), a global insurance brokerage and financial services firm, has announced the appointment of Tim DeSett as President of North American Commercial Lines.
DeSett will report to Chris Treanor, President of Programs & Specialties at HUB. In his new role, he will focus on developing HUB’s Commercial Lines strategy, driving growth, and ensuring clients have seamless access to HUB’s solutions and resources.
He will work closely with HUB’s executive team, business segments, and resource leaders in key areas, including industry specialties, product lines, complex risk, middle market, small commercial, claims and risk services to integrate HUB’s capabilities and maximise client service value.
Treanor expressed enthusiasm for DeSett’s appointment, stating, “The addition of Tim marks another significant milestone in our journey to a highly specialised commercial lines practice that will support our brokers and build differentiated solutions.”
He added, “Tim brings a wealth of experience and leadership to HUB, and his expertise will be instrumental in broadening our capabilities and achieving optimal outcomes for our clients.”
DeSett brings over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry to his new role. He joins HUB from NFP, where he served as Executive Vice President of Property & Casualty.
Before that, he was Head of North American Distribution at AIG. Earlier in his career, DeSett spent 16 years at Lockton and 11 years at CNA in various key leadership positions.
Commenting on his new role, DeSett said, “I am excited to join HUB and lead the Commercial Lines segment.”
He continued, “HUB has achieved rapid organic growth over the years, and I look forward to working with this talented team to continue that momentum and further enhance our offerings to clients.”
