Illinois House passes warehouse safety bill

The Illinois state House of Representatives on Thursday voted to pass a bill creating the Warehouse Safety Standards Task Force Act to study warehouse safety standards.

H.B. 1563 provides that the task force must provide quarterly updates of its findings, discussions, and decisions to the governor and the general assembly, and submit a final report of its recommendations no later than Jan. 1, 2025. The bill also provides that the Department of Labor provide administrative support.

The bill would take effect immediately upon passage.
