Ilsa Derfus appointed Coalition’s Director of Capacity

Coalition, an active insurer focused on preventing digital risks, has announced the appointment of Ilsa Derfus as its Director of Capacity.

In her new role, Derfus will be responsible for managing Coalition’s relationships with carrier partners and will serve as the main contact for all capacity-related issues.

The executive is joining Coalition from McGill & Partners, where she previously worked with Coalition and other clients in a reinsurance brokerage capacity.

In this role, she assisted clients in developing capacity for new offerings and optimising reinsurance and insurance capacity structures.

Prior to McGill & Partners Derfus spent the decade working at Aon, where she served in a number of roles, including as an Associate Director, and Guy Carpenter.

Commenting on her new appointment, Nick Aeppel, Coalition’s Head of Special Projects, said: “Ilsa has already had a major impact on Coalition in her work at McGill & Partners, and we look forward to seeing the impact she will have in this new role at Coalition.

“We expect that Ilsa’s addition will allow Coalition to move more nimbly with carriers, deepen our carrier relationships, and accelerate the pace at which we build capacity for new products and programs.”
