Insurance executive to set up retiree employment app

Risa Ryan, former head of U.S. property/casualty at insurtech Hyperexponential Ltd., has moved to an advisory role at the rating and risk assessment company and co-founded a company to connect insurance retirees with employment projects in the industry.

UnRetire will be a mobile app, website and portal where insurers can post projects and users can apply to work on them, she said.

“With nearly half of the insurance industry workforce set to retire in the next few years, finding experienced professionals is more critical than ever,” Ms. Ryan said in an email.

UnRetire is slated to launch in the first quarter of 2025, she said.

Before joining Hyperexponential earlier this year, Ms. Ryan held senior positions at Sompo International, Swiss Re Ltd., QBE Insurance and Munich Reinsurance Co. In 2018, she was one of the Business Insurance Women to Watch winners.
