Insurer, cannabis association partner on safety

McNeil & Co., a specialized risk management and insurance company, and the Cannabis Association of New York on Monday announced the formation of a workers compensation safety group for the New York cannabis industry, under the approval of the New York State Insurance Fund.

McNeil said in a statement that the intention is to create a “sustainable insurance option for the New York cannabis industry.”

McNeil and CANY worked for two years to ensure the New York cannabis industry had strong and cost-effective insurance options and risk management and loss control solutions built to evolve along with the rapidly growing industry, according to the statement.
