Insurtech names ex-Sompo exec head of US property/casualty

Hyperexponential Ltd. Wednesday named former Sompo International Holdings Ltd. executive Risa Ryan as head of U.S. property/casualty.

Ms. Ryan will be based in New York, according to a statement. The position is newly created, according to an email from a spokesman.

She most recently served as chief underwriting officer at Sompo, according to the statement.

The U.K. insurtech company also said Wednesday that Chief Revenue Officer Richard Gunn will be relocating from London to New York as the company expands its office and operations in the U.S.

Ms. Ryan was a 2018 Business Insurance Women to Watch honoree.
