King Risk Partners names former Risk Strategies exec as CEO

King Risk Partners announced Thursday it appointed Scott Popilek, formerly a regional leader at Risk Strategies, as its new CEO.
Malcolm Chad King, founder of the Gainesville, Florida-based brokerage, will take on the role of chairman and continue to lead the company’s mergers and acquisitions strategy.
Mr. Popilek was most recently Atlantic Region leader at Risk Strategies, now part of Brown & Brown. Before joining Risk Strategies in 2017, Mr. Popilek held various senior roles at Marsh, USI Insurance Services and Willis.
King recently named former AssuredPartners executive Howard Weiss as its new chief growth officer.
Joel Eubank, formerly with Brown & Brown, was appointed chief operating officer in April.
King is the 71st-largest broker of U.S. business, according to the latest Business Insurance ranking.
