Latin Re continues international expansion with Ferrari hire, creation of Clients & Markets unit

Brazilian reinsurer Latin Re has announced the creation of its Clients & Markets division as it continues its international expansion with the appointment of Leticia de Ferrari as Head of International Relations – Europe.

Led by Marjorye Hoejenbos, the new division will focus on leveraging Business Intelligence tools to serve key clients even more effectively.

“The Clients & Markets division analyses our client portfolio with a long-term perspective, considering a five-to-ten-year horizon for defining strategies and goals. With Business Intelligence tools, we will address the needs of insurers, brokers, reinsurers, business partners, and private equity firms, offering integrated solutions and comprehensive approaches that go beyond individual and immediate demands,” explains Hoejenbos.

The new structure will work together with the Specialty and Operations divisions to promote a data-driven approach to business development and brand strengthening.

Hoejenbos stressed that assertive communication is essential for the success of the company’s strategic initiatives.

She added: “It is a great pleasure to take on this new challenge at Latin Re. Being part of the company’s growth, the team’s development, and the evolution of our processes has been a unique experience. My goal is to further engage our teams and provide a tailored service for each key client, whether an insurer, reinsurer, or broker partner.”

The reinsurer is also growing internationally, announcing the appointment of Ferrari as Head of International Relations – Europe, a move that comes at a strategic moment for the company, which became a Lloyd’s Broker in 2023.

Ferrari, based in the Netherlands, will be responsible for expanding Lloyd’s capacity in Brazil, strengthening Latin Re’s presence in the European market, and providing insights on local industry needs.

Ferrari stated: “Our goal is to expand Lloyd’s capacity in Brazil and present reinsurers with the perspective of those who work daily in the market and with local clients. While technology facilitates communication and enables our global presence, we believe that personal interaction strengthens trust and significantly increases the chances of success in our placements.”

Latin Re’s 2025 strategic decisions are focused on data-driven decision-making, effective communication, and global expansion.

These recent moves are part of the company’s ten-year strategic plan to reinforce a clear, assertive direction.
