Liberty Mutual hires from Aspen, announces promotion

Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. on Tuesday said it has named former Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. executive Crystal Ottaviano as chief risk officer, global risk solutions commercial and specialty insurance and reinsurance, and Chantal Rodriguez as reinsurance chief underwriting officer within GRS.

Both are newly created positions and are effective Sept. 1.

Ms. Ottaviano, based in Stamford, Connecticut, was most recently group chief risk officer at Aspen. She will report to GRS chief financial officer Alison Erbig.

Ms. Rodriguez, most recently head of enterprise risk management for Liberty Specialty Markets, will report to both GRS President of Underwriting Matthew Moore and Liberty Mutual Reinsurance President Dieter Winkel. She is based in London.
