Liberty Mutual names president of global surety

Liberty Mutual Insurance on Friday named Nate Zangerle president, global surety, effective Jan. 1, 2026.

He will succeed Tim Mikolajewski, who will retire on Dec. 31, 2025.

Mr. Zangerle will report to Neeti Bhalla Johnson, president, Global Risk Solutions, and will lead strategy and growth for the global surety business.

Mr. Mikolajewski will remain in a strategic role to assist with the leadership transition and shape GRS’s newly launched infrastructure practice.

Mr. Zangerle is currently chief underwriting officer, global surety and credit global product leader. He joined Liberty Mutual in 1998 and has held various underwriting roles, including chief underwriting officer, specialty, and chief operating officer, global risks.
