Liberty Mutual names two execs to lead underwriting teams

Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. said Tuesday that Amy Gross and Nikki Lankford have been promoted within the insurer’s global risk solutions North America business.

Ms. Gross, based in Boston, has been selected to lead a team of underwriters dedicated to middle-market private-equity firms, in addition to her existing role leading Liberty Mutual’s global private-equity practice, according to an email from a company spokesman.

Ms. Lankford has been appointed to lead field underwriting teams and drive underwriting execution and alignment with agents and brokers, the company said in a statement. Based in Atlanta, she was formerly regional executive for the Mid-Atlantic region, the spokesman said.

The appointments follow the February installation of Marc Orloff as president of Liberty Mutual’s global risk solutions North America, middle-market business. Ms. Gross and Ms. Lankford both report to Mr. Orloff, according to the spokesman’s email.
